You need to register to vote if...

-you want to change your political party affiliation
-you've never previously registered to vote

Vote, god damnit. You're insulting a lot of people out there who don't have the privilege of voting. Some people risk their lives to be able to vote.

So do it. It's free. And you get a sticker.

2008 Heart & Sole Aids Walk - Team L-C! | | click to comment

I'd like to give a huge thank-you to everyone who has helped me support Pacific Pride Foundation over the last 3 years... your help has meant a lot to me and you've done a great thing for the foundation.

This is my last year at UCSB so I would love for this year's AIDS Walk to be bigger and better than ever because Team L-C will be there!

Even if you can't donate, please consider walking with us on Saturday, October 4th. It's an easy walk right on the beach with your favorite fun people!

...AND if we reach our team goal of $500, I will personally throw the team and friends of the team a Kunin-style party. And there ain't no party like a Kunin party. I'm not talking about an ice-cream social here, people. (Although Christine is captaining this year wi
th me so there actually might be ice cream to mix with your vodka...)

<-- look at how much fun we're having! [We're spelling A-I-D-S-! if you couldn't tell]

Please consider joining the effort. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!

Thanks. :)
Lauren

A new place, a new face Thursday, August 7, 2008 | | click to comment

Hello again interwebs, and readers old and new. Welcome or welcome back!

I am emerging from the depths of summerschoolland and I've decided to re-open this blog.

Because I am clearly terribly self-centered, I've been increasingly posting things on Facebook that I assume everyone else will find relevant or interesting, and I've found myself wretching at the thought of being one of those people who uses Facebook as a Livejournal [for those of us not under the age of 30, these are all social networking sites, I suppose you could say] or a diary.

So I'm renewing LaurenKunin.com and making it a personal blog, where it's possible I will post annoyingly often with links to news articles, websites, or pictures of cute animals with funny captions. Or maybe I'll throw in a personal essay or two here and there. Just, you know, a way to throw up all the thoughts swimming around in my tiny little head and maybe every so often someone will make my life worthwhile by commenting or responding. I really hope that some of the stuff I find to be extremely cool will strike a chord with you as well. I would also appreciate any kind of feedback you have for me.

I still need to work out some technical kinks, like whether to transfer the contents of Postcards From Italy to an entirely different blog or just let it sit in the archives here. Also, I'm looking for a new title and a new template, because who doesn't love a makeover?

Read on, wonderful reader. Read on...
